This past weekend, the first hot day in San Francisco coincided with the first time the Do Over crew brought the party from LA the bay. A lucky chance? I think not. It was nothing short of a master plan plotted by the gods of weather and gods of fun to have one of the best shindigs in the city this season. The Phoenix Hotel hosted this all-day jam in their old school rock and roll inspired venue complete with a pool (you couldn’t swim in), a wrap-around balcony to survey the crowd below, plenty of space to shimmy around outside, a DJ booth housing Aloe Blacc and a series of fine DJs, and the indoor Chambers lounge to cool off in. Sangria wasn’t served that day but bay area folks didn’t mind one bit.
I have a strong feeling this won’t be the last time Do SF fever crosses our path. My advice for future events: come EARLY to avoid being in line for two hours. There are no cabanas in this venue (unlike LA) but the equivalent would be getting a room the The Phoenix Hotel to have your own private space. Other than that, Do SF was the perfect way to spend a scorching Sunday in the city by the bay and I’m sure LMN can say on behalf of everyone else who was there, we can’t wait until the next one!
